What parts of Modrinth is your feature request related too?

App, Website, API

Is your suggested feature related to a problem? Please describe.

My first project on Modrinth is primarily focused around 1.20.4 - which is a somewhat akward version to focus. I decided I'd make and maintain near identical versions for 1.20.1 and 1.21. After creating those and uploading them, they all merged into the same changelog / update track. What is means is, if you are playing the 1.21 version and I upload an update for the 1.20.1 version, the client now tells you there is an "update" available - but in reality, that's a downgrade, both version-wise and internal protocol wise.

Describe the solution you'd like

I would love to see some sort of update track feature. Even something as simple as being able to add a meta label to the version when it's uploaded to denote what pack version it belongs to. Tho ideally, the versions system is expanded to support "subversions", each with their own downloads tab and changelogs. The Modrinth client would have knowledge of what track you're on, and behavior around the update button, etc, would react as such.

Describe alternatives you've considered

The only alternative I can see available right now is either creating entirely separate packs for each version, which seems clunky. Or, the method I have copied from larger packs dealing with the same, is to name the versions as 'pack x.x.x for mc x.x.x', which is messy and less than ideal.

Additional context

Modrinth is gorgeous and a delightful ecosystem to both publish content as well as play it. I think a simple but powerful feature such as this would easily befit the services already stellar image, and increase creator/user happiness to boot.
