Please confirm the following.

Describe the bug

Certain parts of the Modrinth website break when using Tor to proxy traffic to modrinth.com. So far I've noticed the following parts of the site malfunction:

  • Pretty much all of the creator dashboard image image

  • Uploading versions Screenshot from 2024-07-12 11-55-45

  • Searching for projects (!) image

Steps to reproduce

  1. Configure the browser to use Tor as a proxy
  2. Visit modrinth.com
  3. Try searching for projects
  4. See breakage (empty page, errors in console)

Expected behavior

The site works normally.

Additional context

I use LibreWolf (currently version 127) on Linux.

It doesn't seem like a bug. It was likely set up to prevent DoS attacks.

Closing as the person who opened this is now a ghost. I don't believe we actively block TOR or anything ourselves, but yes it's true that CloudFlare may be blocking suspicious requests to help us avoid DDoS attacks.
