Revert "Remove 2nd one; turn into separate PR." This reverts commit 9ea8d41d45c723c9162bfb64e8c9268a9c65dc70.

As I see it there are two possibilities here:

  • As indicated in this PR with special case for stream-connectors.
  • Remove all the special cases for stream-connectors. Please redirect discussions to the other PR to be created.
