example of `mpmimport`

In reference to issue #45 , here is a very rough example of how mpmimport could work. Let me know what you think. Happy to incorporate suggestions, features etc. I am not a very good matlab programmer but this would be something I would use so I will definitely spend time writing tests for it and making it more robust if you are interested.
