fluffle (modular power rewinding spool holder)

Open mneuhaus opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Design Goals

  • Modular: each section of the spool holder should be attachable horizontally, additionally there sould be "endpieces" that can be attached to the sides, which have 2 holes each for large Wooden Sticks or PVC Pipes to enable stacking multiple rows on top of each other
  • each Spool holder should have one TT DC Motor powered roller that can be activated to automatically rewind on filament unload
  • for the Motors a PCB needs to be created to control the motors
  • replace the need for buffers
  • optional wall-mountable

Did a simple spool holder mockup to see if the TT DC Motor is capable for the job, yes it is:

Great idea imo, could eliminate the need for a buffer system. How would you go about synchronising the speed with your unload speed? You can't really control a DC motor with a mosfet without extra diodes and resistors (not an electrical engineer, probably very wrong)
