Request for Sensor Labeling Check in Child-Customized MEG System

Open Kyung-minAn opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Description of the problem

I appreciate the MNE-Python team for developing the "mne.io.read_raw_kit" function tailored for the child-customized MEG system in Kanazawa, Japan.

One issue we have noticed is that the sensor labelling identifies them as Magnetometers, whereas the child-customized MEG system actually employs Gradiometers. I am curious whether this sensor type might impact further analysis. Could we consider updating the sensor labelling from Magnetometers to Gradiometers?

Steps to reproduce

Sensor labelling from Magnetometers and Gradiometers for the Child-customised MEG.

Link to data

No response

Expected results

sensor label as gradiometer.

Actual results

sensor label as magnetometer.

if it's axial gradiometers like for a CTF system we label it as Magnetometers as topography looks like neuromag / megin vectorview Magnetometers
