Easily updating `*_events.tsv`

I'm looking for a way to easily update *_events.tsv. I have a dataset where I'd like to inject a few new events (experimental breaks) into the sidecar. I don't think we currently provide an easy way to do this (not using a public API anyway), or am I mistaken?
