any chance this will work with BB8 ?
it most likely will... They didn't change the API much.. But I have asked Ian for the new API.. I'd also like to pull in some of the other changes people have made in their private branches..
I too would be interested in knowing this. Also, what other Sphero platforms does this work with? Sphero 2.0, Ollie, SPRK?
It works for sure for a sphero 2 (i own one). Thus, i would say that it should work with the sprk and the bb8. But cannot say for sure as i don't have one.
I just purchased a Sphero BB-8 last week. I plan on testing Melonee's driver for compatibility with it. I bet you that if anything has changed, it will be Bluetooth-related.
I'll keep you all posted here. But don't expect progress any time soon, too many upcoming deadlines :disappointed:

I no longer have a BB-8 (long story) so nope, sorry. However, as I was looking into this, I stumbled upon: https://github.com/jpwchang/sphero_ros (see last 4 commits) So @jpwchang has made some progress on the Bluetooth front. But it doesn't look like he's actively working on this either.
If any are still interested, I got BB-8 working with streaming Odom, Imu, Diagnostic, and Collision data based on jpwchang's fork: https://github.com/agonzalez777/sphero_ros.
Has anyone tried running this package with the sphero mini? I'm curious to know it's compatible.
