This may not be applicable yet. But in case it comes around I think it is handy to have on this page.

Passing through GID and UID to the container to use the volumes permissions might get in the way when using rootless podman.

A hack to get around this is to add:

CONTAINER_COMMAND run
  --annotation run.oci.keep_original_groups=1 \
  --userns keep-id \
