I observed that as well and upon closer investigation it turned out to be an instance of SO Android - Signal 11, RS CPP error: Blur radius out of 0-25 pixel bound. Depending on the values supplied to android:shadowRadius / TextView.setShadowLayer crashes may only happen on xxxhdpi devices (check this list for more candidates). In my case it was easy to reproduce the crash using the Pixel 2 XL simulator preset in combination with the Android 6 system image. HTH.
