Weird behavior on creating transition by resizing clips with snapping on and playhead on the edge

The problem is best explained by the screen captures. Snapping is on, there is a gap between two clips and the playhead is placed on the edge of the first clip - in the first case on the frame just after the clip and in the second case on the last frame of the clip. Then the second clip is resized towards the first clip. The overlap with transition is then resizing very wildly and seemingly undeterministically depending on the speed of mouse movement. In the second case it even resizes in the oposite direction of the mouse. It seems like it can't decide which object it wants to snap to.

Undo action also works wrong here as you can see at the end of the first clip. It usually resizes back the second clip only to the position where it met the first clip. As if the overlap with transition was made as a second action after joining the two clips to be adjacent, but the undo only reverts the overlap with transition action.
