[linux] Missing icons when theme is set to 'System' on KDE Plasma

Open glaubersm opened this issue 3 years ago • 7 comments

Hi

I use shotcut 22.11.25-1 on Arch Linux running KDE Plasma 5.26.4 desktop environment. Some icons are missing after the following steps:

  1. open Shotcut
  2. click on 'Settings' menu, hover over 'Theme' and choose 'System'
  3. restart Shotcut

The areas highlighted in red in the screenshot below are where icons are missing.

I believe this is a packaging problem, but we do not make that package. Please test one of the builds on our download page.

I can't reproduce with portable and AppImage versions.

Please report it to the package maker. We do not coordinate with the many other projects building our app.

Hi This bug persists and Arch packagers do not know what the problem is. I can also reproduce with flatpak version from flathub. What do you think?

Here is the bug report in Arch bug tracker: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/76804

The next release removes Settings > Theme and automatically chooses Dark or Light Fusion thereby avoiding this problem. See the alpha version notes on the web site.

Shotcut 24.06 has this bug on Arch Linux running KDE Plasma 6.1.4 DE. Could anyone reopen this bug report please?

The main developers do not plan to do anything about this. Sometime else can though (pull request). Affected users should simply not use the system theme.
