Not working on Kernel 6.8.0-45-generic

Open isavitskii opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Hi! I recently updated my Kernel to 6.8.0-45-generic on Xubuntu 22.04 and the patch stopped working due to version mismatch:

Version mismatch: module vmmon-only/vmmon.ko 6.8.0-40-generic, kernel 6.8.0-45-generic Version mismatch: module vmnet-only/vmnet.ko 6.8.0-40-generic, kernel 6.8.0-45-generic make: *** [Makefile:35: install] Erro 1

Any clues? Using VMWare Workstation 17.5.1 (I rolled back, since newer version 17.6 was breaking my host system network). Thanks a lot!

I am using 17.5.2 on 6.8.0-40 on Ubuntu 24.04.1. This is working. 17.6 had lot of issues, 17.6.1 has issues with multimonitor and mouse on multimonitor.

17.5.2 is working for me too on 6.8.0-45 on Ubuntu 24.04.1. I used the patched vmmon/vmnet as released for 17.5.1, since there are no changes to the original source code of these modules between 17.5.1 and 17.5.2.

17.6.1 working for me too on Kali Linux on Kali Linux rolling 2024.3 with kernel 6.10.11. I used the patched vmmon/vmnet as released for 17.5.1
