I'd prefer to drop docs from oldstable, which you could already guess, because you know I don't like supporting buggy archaic software :)

No, please don't, this is just making the attack a bit slower/harder but doesn't really change anything. We just shouldn't hash the plaintext, it's a risky idea in general and...
