Can you start the app with --verbose option and paste here the output?

If the problem occurs with all engines, there is most likely something wrong with the audio source.

Please check if the audio source in your system is set to microphone. The value "Auto" in Settings->Speech to text->Audio input device should automatically select the microphone, but please also test it by explicitly setting the mic device.
