I need a PAUSE code

I am doing a short video and the sentence starts off with "I came home one day and" - but it skips the "I" and reads the rest.

Is there way to code in a short pause, so the reading program can start running, before it starts reading?

The "I" gets read in the middle of a sentence etc., but it gets missed at the actual start of the text.

There is a slight lag between the program starting to run the reader and the reader saying the word - it's very brief, but it does miss the I.

To start with a pause, you can use {silence: 1s} control tag.
