Question regarding NAT..

Any particular reason why using NAT i.e. doesn't regular routing work between the endpoints?

You don't actually need NAT, but then everyone's situation on setting up routing (dynamic or static) is different. I can see your point - somethings will break with NAT. Author can't possibly cover all scenarios. I got it working without NAT, but please don't reach out on how. Completely out of scope here.

this is 100% in the scope of a Site-to-Site VPN and often very important to how they are used, if you have a solution to this problem, i myself and I'm sure others would love to hear it.
