Alphabet index for tables

An index per alphabet would be great. I have implemented one myself taking a small table and making 28 copies and rename them like A.vpx, B.vpx, C.vpx, and so on. Then apply a wheel and an appropriate black wallpaper to each of them. The result is very good IMHO as it is easier to get to the desired table in that way, but it would be great to have it as an option in the software from start.
