"scenes" and scheduling?

It seems like for the BT devices at least, "scenes" (presets) are stored on the device as are schedules. Is there any way to read/change this info?

I just started toying with the light strips that were on sale @ newegg for $18, and am realizing how awful the app is - like not being able to slightly change the color or brightness of an existing scene seems silly.

Anyone have info on how the scheduling works?
