May wifi password limitations be the underlying reason why RM4 mini is not connecting?

Thank you for this tool. I am trying to connect to an RM4 mini without success so far. My issues are:

1. I cannot get a slow blinking LED after second long press of the reset button. However, the device goes into AP mode with fast blink and I can connect to its WiFi.
2. broadlink.setup fails with or without the broadcast address specified. I have a WiFi password that is longer than 32 characters and contains special characters like - and !. Broadlink app would not allow me to enter the entirety of my password (limit is 32) and fails. I was hoping that I could get around that using your tool, however, it is not working either.

Do you think the broadlink app WiFi password limitations may be imprinted in the firmware and the underlying cause of my troubles? If so, this may be the answer to issue #804 and similar others.
