Ability to view Perforce jobs attached to changelists

Open isc-kiyer opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I want to easily view the jobs attached to my changelist in the source control tab of VS code without having to switch to P4V or view the changelist spec

Describe the solution you'd like Similar to how shelved files are visible with the "SE" label, would be great if jobs could be visible with a "J" label. Of course to maintain backwards compatibility, this feature could be "opt-in" via a setting similar to how viewing shelved files is a setting.

PS: This extension is great and I hope to eventually not need to use P4V altogether!

Interesting idea to show them like files! That previously wouldn't have been feasible because you couldn't control the context menus per individual item - that would make the menus a total mess - but that changed toward the end of last year so it is possible now. I don't think it would be too hard to branch off all the handling for jobs vs files.

It doesn't seem like it's quite the intended purpose for items on the source control view, but at the same time I can't think of any major negatives to doing it, and it was also something that bothered me when I was still using perforce so I can see how it would make it a nicer experience.

Certainly something I'll have a look into when I'm next making changes
