Next Control Length Node, Not adjustable outside of Grid Space

Open michaelk036 opened this issue 11 months ago • 0 comments

The Bug I've been having with PathPlanner is the Next Control Length Node. If you have a more complex path, that requires the Control Length Node to go off the field boundaries (And out of the Grid Space). You can't adjust it at all, and you have to move your robot position. This gets really annoying. (A screenshot of the Bug is Shown in Fig 1)

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to a .path file
  2. Click on The Robot's Next Control Length Node (Shown in Fig 1)_
  3. Drag it off the Gridspace, and you can't adjust it at all, and you have to adjust your Robot Position to be able to adjust your Next Control Length Node. (Shown in Fig 1)

Versions

  • OS: MacOS 15.1.1, my friend has also experienced the same issue on Windows 11 and Arch Linux.
  • _GUI Version: 2025.1.1
  • PPLib Version: 2025.1.1
  • PPLib Language: Java

I would say that it would be a pretty reasonably simple fix to just extend the Grid Space to the Right, Left and Top and top of the field, and potentially a zoom out function would be really nice (there's currently only a zoom in function - Scroll Wheel) but I would understand if that's not possible, because you'd be extending the Gridspace out infinitely (or to some limit). Maybe a solution could be to make the Next Control Length Node Adjustable out of the Gridspace

Either way, Thank-you and I hope to see this implemented at some point. -Michael, Team 4048
