First of all;

Macbook Pro 2012 (pre-retina) 2.7ghz QC : 16gb ram : 1tb SSD : 750gb SATA : Geforce GT 650 1gb : Intel HD 4000 1.5gb

Also running Big Sur 11.6.3 with OpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.4.1 (which runs perfectly on this machine no other problems with any other apps).

-I've checked the drives for integrity and they're both good. -I've searched all the bugs related to the Nvidia card, tested the settings and still get the same problem.

Basically when quitting the app it completely freezes my entire computer. Hard shut down required. That becomes problematic as macOS opens it right away when I log back in. If I don't close it fast enough, I have to reset all over again, no matter what I do the app freezes the computer when closing the app.

Two things to note; I get a message every time the app starts about reauthorizing the folder I selected as my library. And the app itself has a major trackpad delay/lag. So far I can't seem to figure out how anything works because nothing does until I move away from the option to try something else. I can load music. I can play music. But after getting bored of not being able to control anything properly, I have to restart my computer as quitting the app completely freezes it.

Otherwise looks like a great app, hope there's a way I can get to messing around with it soon!

Excellent work all around.

I have a similar problem, but when I exit I get the dreaded Black Screen of Death and my machine completely crashes. Happens every time I quit Mixxx.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix that? Is 2.4-alpa also affected?

@miles Could you update your macOS to 11.7.3 (you are running an outdated version lacking many security fixes from Apple) and see if Mixxx 2.3.3 still crashes for you.

If it does, please retry with the latest development snapshot from https://mixxx.org/download/#testing

If you still see a crash please provide the full crash log.

Same problem. I upgraded to 11.7.3 and install the latest development snapshot of 2.4-alpha-1412-g95d03bf94e, Build Date 06 February 2023.

After the BSOD came back, had a popup message that said: "Unable to upgrade your database schema to version 39 Your mixxxdb.sqlite file may be corrupt. Try renaming it and restarting Mixxx."

Here's the dump from the OS crash: https://gist.github.com/miles/9b7a324ecc1949ec56f45cd17de75679

Is there a separate crash log from Mixxx? If so where do I find it?

Mixxx has a log file: https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx/wiki/Finding-The-Mixxx.Log-File

Or you may create a backtrace: https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx/wiki/Creating-Backtraces#linux--mac-os-x-with-xcode-4x

But I am afraid this is not possible in case of a BSOD

@miles The log is not n app crash but a kernel panic. It mentions

 Kernel Extensions in backtrace:
         com.apple.iokit.IOFireWireFamily(4.8.3)[1179B127-B332-3474-8B0A-FDA6E2127E69]@0xffffff7fb268a000->0xffffff7fb26bcfff

Do you have any FireWire devices connected when this problem is occurring? (I am by no means an expert on this)

Expired for Mixxx because there has been no activity for 60 days.
