Add ability to store a patch
Would be great if I could store a patch, so that once I find a sound I like I don't have to get out my computer and find the sound again in UTE before saving the sound.
For how to store a patch, I'm thinking you would send Pgrm 127, then Pgrm (patch number), then Pgrm 127 again. This can be thought of as "write, (number), write confirm". Hopefully this would make it easy enough to store a patch, without it being so easy that you can do it by accident.
The reason I didn't allow this was due to my overly cautious nature. In order to save to the flash memory on board, you need to erase an entire page and then write it back again. This process is somewhat sensitive regarding power supply stuff. There was a perceived risk that when trying to save a patch while powered by midi that it would fail and corrupt the whole page, losing all the patches.
It's very possible I was being too cautious and actually it would be fine, but that was the rationale.
Makes sense. Maybe it could be a feature that has to be enabled with UTE? That way there could be a dialog to warn users of the danger before enabling.
