Is removing from the black list and iptables sufficient? Will the ip not get re-blacklisted if it's in the fail2ban log files?

Also, what stops the emails for this jail? I don't quite understand the magic.

If your findtime is set to 1 month (for example) and a bad IP has stopped attacks after 1 month it will be unbanned and removed and not re added. If the IP has continued attacks it will get unbanned and rebanned almost immediately. I generally set a findtime of 1 year on my perma bans.

I'll have to check again what I did to disable emails
