ive had some problems with the downloader when trying to download a 15k x 15k map, i dont have most of it downloaded and its mostly void anyway but for some reason it is taking up alot of my cpu and gpu. is there any way to fix this?

and also will stop responding entirely at points when downloading the map

This is a Java APP and therefore you can set the Max and Min amount of memory . It is system dependent ,but you did not list your system specs . The server.properties sets the view distance for the server usually 10 chucks or 160 blocks around the player. Don't set your view distance greater than what the server sends, it will store it and eat up your memory . Not really a Bug but a limitation of your config and computer .
