Sometimes the first chunk after logging in is not saved

Open waltersamson opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Describe the bug Sometimes, the chunk the player is standing on upon logging in is not saved.

Steps to reproduce

  • Log in and don't move;
  • Log out;
  • Open the saved world, it's possible that the player would immediately fall down into a void hole.

It turns out that the chunk the player is standing on upon logging in, a.k.a. the "starting point" of the download session, is not saved. All the other surrounding chunks are save properly, creating a void hole.

This used to happen 100% of the time with the 1.18 prerelease that I've been using for the past few month. With the newest release that fully supports 1.18.2, this still happens, but less likely.

Version Game: Minecraft 1.18.2 Downloader: v1.16.2 java 17.0.1 2021-10-19 LTS

Huh, strange, might be a race condition or something, although not sure why that would make it more likely on the pre-release

I can verify this , although logging out and back in can get the chunk that's missing
