"Unable to open this link: Get ...: EOF" (Android Police, XDA Developers)

Open BasilTomato opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

Recently two feeds are reporting EOF error, which worked for the last few years. a) Android Police:

  • Unable to open this link: Get "https://www.androidpolice.com/feed/": EOF b) XDA Developers:
  • Unable to open this link: Get "https://www.xda-developers.com/feed/": EOF

I have tried to Remove the feeds and Add again, but the error remains the same. Could you please check this issue?

They are blocking the request or the source IP network with some bot protection mechanism.

Testing with curl, it doesn't work with Hetzner Hosting or Digital Ocean, but it works with Vultr or my home Internet connection.

You could try to use a proxy to work around this. They probably don't realize that they are blocking legit network traffic.

Thank you for the feedback. I am using the Paid Hosting version of Miniflux, not self-hosted, thus I am not quite sure it is possible to configure proxy in this case. May I get in touch with the support of the given sites regarding this issue?

The hosted version of Miniflux has been migrated recently to Hetzner. I will need some time to see what can be done to avoid that kind of problem.

I had a similar issue for Android Police and Wccftech. I tested with a Webproxy but that did not help. At the end it was a problem with the user agent, I am using "Mozilla/5.0 (Linux)" and can now pull feeds from Android Police and Wccftech

P.S.: self hosted here
