Add a link to the official Luanti website
Problem
It seems strange to me that the official Luanti website isn't easily accessible from a link on the main page or down in the footer. This may sound stupid, as people who are on ContentDB should probably know about Luanti... but i'm pretty positive ContentDB receives more daily visits than the official Luanti website, which would rank it higher in search results with search engines. A stronger argument: people who actually want to play Luanti would definitely want to check out mods and games available for it before downloading it ! So when they arrive on ContentDB and make their decision, there should be an easy way for them to download Luanti for the mods as well !
Solutions
Add a link to Luanti's official in the header or in the footer so it's easily accessible. For example if you put it in the header, it could be integrated like so:
when you click on the upper part, you'd be taken to the homepage of ContentDB, but if you click on the lower part, you'd be taken to Luanti's official website.
How about a separate link in the header, to the right of "Help" called "Get Luanti" or "Download Luanti"?
no offense, but the image provided looks ugly as hell
this is just a mockup for the idea i had, i've seen this kind of things done on other sites.
@SmallJoker this sounds good yes 🙂
Rather than adding it to the nav bar, the download button should probably make it clearer. Perhaps by going to a page with more instructions
This is indeed a great idea ! You can assume people with an account know what Luanti is, so this could only be shown to people visiting without being logged in.
