Touch controls steam deck AppImage

Open LukeMech opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Describe the bug When AppImage is launched via steam by appimagelauncher-lite in steam deck's gaming mode, touch control in game doesn’t work properly (it shows mouse cursor and starts randomly breaking things around in the world), but when launched in desktop mode it works.

Expected behavior When launched in steam decks gaming mode touch support should be present

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Linux SteamOS 3.5.7
  • Version: v0.13.0-x86_64 (build 786)
  • Installation Type: AppImage

Additional context Hope it get repaired, it is probably linked to steam deck's gaming mode limitations, althought in some games touch input works natively even in this mode (so why here doesn’t?)

Do you notice any difference with an experimental AppImage from https://github.com/minecraft-linux/mcpelauncher-manifest/actions/runs/7595462048

Just tried, downloaded from artifacts x86_64 version and it gets even worse - not only touch works same way (but it is broken in desktop mode also), now steam deck's gamepad doesn’t work at all (when launching via steam in desktop mode and in game mode). Tried with 1.20.60 and 1.19.80 to ensure it's not minecraft related problem.

I need to look into sdl3 touch support, could be broken due to me developing on a laptop without touch and no ability to debug all input modes.

Regarding gamemode, I never installed steam on linux and don't know if that is enough for getting gamemode. This launcher is basically a desktop app and has only ever tested in that specfic linux environment.

This can take some weeks for me to try things that doesn't affect me
