Probably because its former maintainer does not want to maintain it anymore. It has already done that before, with other packages such as Stellarium (a plea to compile! >__<) or Celestia.

It looks like it's back in AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/min

I didn't create the original package; I don't know anything else about this. But if there's something we need to change in the project to make it packageable again I'm happy to do so.
