GitHub markdown might have swallowed your < and > characters but it looks like your line:

∂a![Apple]http://apple.comƒa

does not work because you have to put the URL between < and >. My example does this correctly as I just verified and it looks like this:

∂a![Apple]<http://apple.com>ƒa

If this still does not work for you what operating system and Xcode version are you using?

Thank you, you are entirely correct. I only looked at the sample code of AddedMarkupApp not the README.md. It is fixed now.
