Isn't this a reddit frontend?

Or where is the content ultimately hosted?

Frankly, I'm not sure. It was originally requested by @nighthawk:jameskitt616.one in #gallery-dl:gitter.im and I haven't got the time to check yet

At this point, I'm confused. There's Reddit (https://scrolller.com/r/trees?sort=top, https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/how-to-find-new-and-interesting-subreddits-using-scrolller/ar-AA1eBrQ6), but apparently "verified creator partners" can also upload content directly (https://scrolller.com/upload-content).

Apparently it's both. Reddit frontend and also hosting content for their own creator feeds.

Not to be confused with scroller.com (two l) from #3418, which now redirects to some shady http://diony-kxw.com/zclkredirect site.

@mikf They actually just appear to have made a typo in the title, their example is the one with triple l's, so this issue would be the third duplicate.

Ah, that explains it. I remembered there being an open issue from way before 2022, but searching for scroller found only #3418. This is a duplicate of #295 then.

Not sure if this contributes anything or not, but the reason that I would like to have a module/extractor for scrolller.com is that it archives content that is no longer available on sites such as Reddit.

As most are aware, many subreddits were closed due to 'no moderator' or other reasons. As such, scrolller contains content that is no longer available via reddit.

Although having a paid account to scrolller enables downloads, they are only one-file-at-a-time, i.e. there is no option that I know of to dl a group o files (which is gallery-dl's forte).

Given the here-now, gone-later trend on many sites, this request seems rational to me. I have no concept re: how much effort would be needed to implement it, so I rely on other (more qualified) people regarding this.
