Acestream version mismatch? (v3.1.5 reported)

Open WolfganP opened this issue 7 years ago • 5 comments

FOA, thx a lot for maintaining this project updated. I previously used a manual install as per https://twistedlinux.wordpress.com/2016/02/29/run-acestream-under-openelec-on-raspberry-pi-2/ but this project make it so much easier to keep an updated setup. Thanks again!

Anyways, I installed the latest repository (reported as v 3.1.19.1 as per the home repository page) but when accessing the monitor webpage, acestream engine reports itself as v3.1.5. Is that on purpose? Thx.

Hello!

To be honest, I don't seem to understand what is this monitor page - could you please elaborate on that?

Regarding the version thing, I suppose that's expected. For example, in the guide you posted above, you installed acestream 3.1.6 but I reckon it was still reported as 3.1.5 - is that correct? I believe this is expected cause we replace plexus' bundled acestream engine in a hacky way. But I am pretty sure but the version which is being used in the latest, 3.1.19 despite the fact that it's reported as 3.1.5.

Thanks, I meant the acestream engine monitor page: http://<yourIP>:8621/app/monitor that is enabled with the --service-remote-access switch

@sestus Update: installing the updated engine from https://twistedlinux.wordpress.com/2017/03/11/acestream-engine-was-updated-to-3-1-18/ it accurately reports as v3.1.18 via the monitor page at http://yourserverIP:8621/app/monitor (while the previous one from that blog reports as v3.1.6 as expected as well).

A new test reinstalling your version reports as being v3.1.5, which is weird... a true mystery :-)

I see... Maybe this version is stored somewhere in plexus's database and reported as 3.1.5 ? I searched for it but couldn't find anything. I reckon that it is indeed version 3.1.19 cause otherwise I wouldn't be able to view the acestreams. Could you try running some acestreams using my acestream and the one from twistedlinux ? If there are some that don't work while using the acestream from my repo, then I may indeed got it wrong.

But I remember I was forced to google and find for a newer version for acestream engine, cause I wasn't able to watch anything using the bundled with plexus version (3.1.5). And after I manually deleted - installed the one in my repo I was able to watch streams again.

Thanks for your feedback !!

Just to document the issue, here's how the monitor reports version in my installed version (from the blog I pointed above)
