Scran factors

Hi I am trying to understand why we need to use the sum factors calculated with scran here? sizeFactors(dds) <- sizeFactors(scr) Any hint?

These are better for single cell datasets. Maybe read the references associated with the sum factors function, as I think they show how its better in that paper / those papers.
