Feature Request: Show/Select last opened photo

Open fishmi opened this issue 6 years ago • 4 comments

After closing ExifPro and calling the program again, the last selected photo (before closing) should be selected again (not only the last folder) It is tedious to scroll back to the last viewed photo every time, especially with many photos.

A note about the program: It is still (in 2018) the fastest photo viewer on the market, there is no faster one. I can judge that because I have tried quite a lot of programs of this kind. No Lightroom, Exposure, DxO Photolab, SILKYPIX, Capture One, On PhotoRaw and whatever they all are called can top ExifPro. Also from the other usability the program is really the best I could find, except for a few small things (see above).

That is why I very much regret that ExifPro is no longer further developed and marketed.

Yes, this is a good idea.

Well, EP is open source now, so if it can attract some devs, then it will survive. But C++ and MFC are not the most productive combination, so many programmers would rather stay away from it I guess.

Does this mean there is no chance to persuade you to develop ExifPro further?

I am only a frontend developer, so I don't know anything about C++....

Sorry, this chapter is over now and I want to be a front-end guy enjoying Angular and TypeScript, like the rest of the world.

I can understand that very well.. Maybe we will find someone to further develop this really good program. I always hoped that one of the "big" players would process the source code further. For many photo management and photo editing programs this would be a great improvement.
