Huh, OK, that's an interesting problem indeed. I guess ANSI escapes to do feature detection and/or getting a user-agent equivalent would be the only way forward there.

The problem with trying to make everything reflectable for the Groovy case is whether you still end up with improved performance, which is presumably the goal of using native image...

The deadlock fixes from bitcoinj have been merged. This can be closed now - we haven't seen any deadlocks in Orchid for a long time after these fixes.

We've forked the project for bitcoinj (it's included in our source tree) and are fixing thread safety issues at the moment. If you'd like to use an improved (we think!)...

Update: our copy of Orchid has many fixes and continues to be maintained. For example we just update the directory authority list to reflect the addition of longclaw: https://github.com/bitcoinj/bitcoinj/commit/1e8d249ce772e2f102f94dc42aa38be07abc2e30

Well, we only change it when we need to really. It's only very lightly maintained. But yes we should upload the fork and do it properly at some point.

@brl has merged many of the fixes from bitcoinj upstream, so you can use this code again now. I don't think there are any outstanding changes he missed but if...
