SoundCloud Player doesn't work anymore

Open arsenevandebilt opened this issue 10 years ago • 13 comments

Since a couple of days the Firefox add-on doesn't communicate with the Soundcloud website anymore, and I have been unable to control my music using the add-on. I'm using Firefox 33.0 on Windows 7.

Perhaps a recent Soundcloud API update/change broke the functionality. I hope this can be fixed.

I just released v0.7, which fixes the issue.

I am already using v0.7. It does not work. If I click on "Play" nothing happens (I have 5 tabs open with Soundcloud.com opened) Using Windows 8.1 and Firefox 33.0.2

@ScreenDriver @sergey-vlasov Can you look at the 'Tools --> We Developer --> Browser Console' window and see if there are any messages/ errors listed of interest?

BTW, SoundCloud changed its frontpage layout to not include a player anymore, but a only a list of songs like you see in your stream. The player is only available when you're signed in to your account.

@ScreenDriver The add-on searches for a SoundCloud tab and grabs only the first one - otherwise it would start playing in all 5 tabs at the same time.

My web developer console displayes nothing special related to your Soundcloud plugin.

I know that it grabs the first open tab. I only wanted to show that I have more than one tab and it find no one

PS: I am signed in in my account.

The only message I get being on soundcloud.com

"You like to look under the hood? Why not help us build the engine? http://soundcloud.com/jobs"

Ah forget about my last post. I found it! I had opened another soundcloud tab (I oversight it). I clicked on it so Firefox had to load it first (after a session restore). Now it workes! :+1:

@ScreenDriver well, that's inconvenient if it really looks withing unloaded tabs. I have plenty of them.

@mikedeboer Is it possible to limit to only loaded onces?

noscript avatar Oct 29 '14 10:10 noscript

@ScreenDriver \o/

@sergey-vlasov I mean the 'Browser Console', not the 'Web Console'. If you don't see that menu options, please go to about:config, search for devtools.chrome.enabled and switch that to true.

@sergey-vlasov I can try to fix checking for loaded tabs only. Can you file a bug for that?

mikedeboer avatar Oct 29 '14 10:10 mikedeboer

Sure, I will.
