Could you find anything which causes the problem? The Korean test case works fine for me on Fedora 28, so I guess this is a problem specific to FreeBSD.

The Korean test is the only one which is failing when doing ``` python3 m17n_translit.py ``` ?

That looks like a bug the fr_FR.dic to me. Because each line in such a dictionary should contain a word optionally followed by / and some flags used to generate...
