Method to suppress messages from sub tasks

Is there a way to suppress subtask notifications? For instance in a watch process I don't mind a notification saying CSS was updated, but during a final build routine I don't want to get 7-8 in a row, I just want 1 at the end saying complete.

Any thoughts?
