This hasn't been active for 3 1/2 years. This will have to be a community initiative...
Hey Miika, since currently there is kind of rolling the last coll for plugins to get into blender 2.83 LTS, I was wondering if you have thought of reviving this great tracker addon.
I have some potential ideas to get it working, so I make a fork this weekend and see if they work out.
No promises that any of it will work though, or if Miika will end up merging it anyway.
Well, as is somewhat obvious, no fix in sight. I don't have a great understanding of the blender API, and conversion from 2.79 to 2.8 is not well documented... Sorry to anyone who had their hopes up.

good news: updated the add-on and just submitted a pull request. If you have the time please test the add-on and report back whether the patch works or if you encounter any other issues.

Im getting only two rounds of added trackers then the loop just stops. If I spam the autotrack button it goes through but its not very automatic. I'm on 2.83
