Changing Policy Banner

Open jamesgraham opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

With a policy applied to a user, if they join a meeting they see a banner:

Recording started.
Policy applied to one or more participants requires this call to be recorded.

Is there a way to a) customize this message b) conditionally show it, for example if for a specific meeting we don't want to access the media streams.

I think for b) it's programatically possible to collect data about the meeting without recording streams and then decide based on the meeting data to record it or not and flip the recording status or not.

@1fabi0 the issue is that there are 2 banners in play:

  1. Policy applied to one or more participants requires this call to be recorded. (always present if a bot is)
  2. Call is being recorded (if recording is active)

We cannot change the 1st banner conditionally, it seems if the bot is present

@jamesgraham Just found this New-CsTeamsCustomBannerText which can be set to the policy also the recording Banner only shows up if the recording status is changed by the bot to recording and it also changes to recording finished when the bot changes the recording status back to not recording, not as soon as the bot is invited into the meeting.
