WSL data usage not reported in Windows 11
Is your feature request related to a problem:
I was just surprised when my laptop used 40GB of unaccounted cellular data over the course of two weeks and the only way I can explain this is by the display server on WSLg perhaps connecting via the cellular data with Windows.
Describe the solution you'd like:
WSL should have its entry in Network & Internet>Advanced network settings>Data usage. It should be transparent how much data WSL uses.
Describe alternatives you've considered:
It could be that Windows Update is using the cellular data but it won't be 40GB.

@rommeswi, thanks for reporting the issue, and it is confirmed that WSL usage won't be accounted, we will work with appropriate group to address this, thanks!
Great!
May I ask if it is indeed possible that wslg uses up mobile data by connecting the Wayland display server via a cellular connection? I realize that this will depend a lot on the exact configuration of the cellular connection but it would still be good to know about the general possibility.
@rommeswi, no, the connection to Wayland display does not consume the cellular data, it is local connection. What could consume would be, for example, the internet access from WSL, such as web access or installing software from repositories (apt-get), then WSL connects to virtual network on Windows host, and Windows host delegate network access, and currently it is observed that any access via virtual network is not accounted, thanks!

from what i can tell WSL usage still isn't accounted for
I have too many entries called "WSL" in my data usage page... Is it related to this issue? @hideyukn88
