Now it's 2025.06.15, just updated the WSL version to 2.5.7.0
- run
sudo snap install blender --classicto install blender 4.4.3 - launch blender by
/snap/bin/blender
Expected Behavior
The GUI starts normally.
Actual Behavior
GUI crashes immediately after startup, and console hangs at the last line of the following output.
Ctrl+c doesn't kill it.
I can only kill it by kill -9.

Download and execute collect-wsl-logs.ps1 in an administrative powershell prompt:

(1920 x 1080) does not match the configured maximized state (1920 x 1032)
The fact that the maximized state is 48 pixels smaller means it's also considering the Windows taskbar's size.
I don't see this error and Blender launches just fine but I have the windows taskbar in auto-hide mode.

Yeah! If I auto-hide the taskbar, it starts normally. BUT it's very strange, no titlebar or border around the window, I cannot move the window, and I can only close it from the windows taskbar.
@elegracer It looks like a Wayland limitation on Blender. If you launch Blender with WAYLAND_DISPLAY="" blender it forces X11 and then you can resize the window.
