I'm hovering the expand button, Dracula theme. Zoom into the corner. Two things here, first the hover outline of this button feels like it conflicts with the border, which has a different border radius.

And there's a gap between the hover background and the focus outline which seems wrong

Good catch on the mismatched corner radii. That should ideally be the same (I'd vote that the outline corner radius matches the card corner radius).

Also the gap on hover was intentional. I thought it was a nice way to sort of visually separate the click target from the rest of the card when it's open.

If you feel strongly about removing the on hover gap I'd be fine with it. I personally like the gap, but it's not something I'll die on a hill to keep.
