GitHub Copilot Sign-In Issues After VS Code Update

Hello VS Code team,

I’m reporting an issue with GitHub Copilot after updating VS Code. It appears that Copilot is refusing to sign in, despite selecting the appropriate authentication method.

When prompted to choose between a GitHub Enterprise (GHE) account and a GitHub account, I selected GitHub, yet I still encountered errors:

When GitHub authentication is disabled:
    An error appears in the Output (Terminal) window:

[error] [Window] [chat setup] signIn: error Timed out waiting for authentication provider to register

When GitHub authentication is enabled:

The same error as above occurs.
Additionally, a pop-up appears stating:

    "Failed to sign in to GHE.com. Would you like to try again? You must be signed in to use Copilot."

    This is confusing because I explicitly selected the GitHub account option, yet it references GHE instead.
