Unclear why I'd want to `Copy changed line` in notebook diff

I notice a lightbulb will appear in every cell of the notebook diff view to Copy changed line:

I'm unclear what this does or why I'd want to do this in every entry of the diff view. I tried clicking on it, but it doesn't seem to then later paste anything?

I can see the same behaviour with multi-file diff viewer as well,

This is feature is anti-feature. I am searching a way to disable it. The original behavior where I was able to select and copy myself was much better.
