Terminal Resizes Instead of Hiding When Opening a File
When the integrated terminal is maximized (taking up the full height of the editor) and I click on a file in the explorer, the terminal resizes to occupy the bottom portion of the screen instead of hiding completely. This behavior disrupts the workflow, as I prefer the terminal to hide entirely when I open a file.
Expected Behavior:
If the terminal is maximized and I open a file, the terminal should hide entirely rather than automatically resizing to a smaller portion of the screen.
Steps to Reproduce:
Maximize the integrated terminal so it occupies the full height of the editor. Click on any file in the explorer. Notice that the terminal resizes to a smaller portion at the bottom instead of hiding completely.
Proposed Solution:
Introduce an option or setting that allows the terminal to hide entirely when a file is opened, instead of resizing.
Additional Information:
This enhancement would benefit users who prefer to minimize distractions and want the terminal to be out of view when not in use. The current workaround is to manually hide the terminal before interacting with files, which can interrupt the workflow.

cc @sbatten as feedback for how view maximization works. I don't think a change for this would live in the terminal but views management.
