Links not opening in LibreWolf
Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes
- VS Code Version:
1.80.0
660393deaaa6d1996740ff4880f1bad43768c814
x64
- OS Version: EndeavourOS Cassini Nova R2
Steps to Reproduce: Unsure how to reproduce, here is what I do:
- Terminal:
unset BROWSER
- Terminal:
xdg-settings set default-web-browser librewolf.desktop
- Open VS Code
- Help > About (does nothing)
- I also have an error about an OS keyring (separate issue) and I click Open Troubleshooting Guide; it does nothing
- Open terminal
-
echo "https://example.com/"
- ctrl-click the link; it does nothing
- Retry steps 3-8 with dev tools open; I see nothing in the console
- Double check my default browser
- Find the desktop file; it exists
- Check my environment variable; it is set correctly
- Open an HTML file in my explorer and it opens successfully in LibreWolf
- Install any updates and reboot my computer; issue persists
- Search existing issues; none are relevant
I installed VS Code Insiders and it is able to open links in my browser.
Which installation of VSCode are you using, (deb, rpm or snap) ?
Also does running xdg-open https://example.com
from your system terminal open the librewolf ?

I installed from AUR.
The example opens in my browser as do other links I click in different software. Insiders is working for me rn.
Thanks for confirming, I don't see any recent fixes to link handling in core. But will wait for 1.81
stable and see if the issue still repros with stable.
