Are you using McAfee antivirus? If so please see https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/178962

I can confirm. McAfee slows down the launch time. Just add the vscode.exe file to the excluded files and it will work normally

I do not use antivirus. But VS is slow and buggy. Fake errors, slow commits, problems with intellisense.
